Everything Diwali !

We are just 5 days away from Diwali. This is a very busy week for many of us who are celebrating the biggest Hindu festival. This year will be different due to Covid-19 but we can still make it a memorable one.

With little effort, you can prep your house with some DIY crafts ( read my detailed post on some easy DIY Diwali crafts).

There is still time to plan for Diwali. Here are some tips to plan for a stress free Diwali.

  • Involve your family in decorating the house.
  • Kids love to do the crafts, so assign them all the craft work – they can’t go wrong with DIY crafts I mentioned above. If they are too little, then give them all the glue work for crafts.
  • Have a Diwali cooking night/day with family – make all the desserts and snacks together as a family.
  • Have your outfits ready a day before Diwali.
  • Have all your Diwali pooja items ready a day before. This helps to avoid unnecessary stress on the day of Diwali.
  • Plan your meals for not just Diwali day but also for the day before when you will be finishing up all the important tasks related to Diwali.
  • Take 10 deep breaths when you feel stressed out. It always help me, so I know it works !

These tips will help you relax and enjoy the festival with family. This year I believe we should go an extra mile to celebrate our festivals. So go ahead and decorate your house and make all the yummy treats just like you do every year. This will bring some sense of normalcy in this otherwise unique year.

Stay calm and carry on!
