10 Mindful Habits For 2022

Ten To Zen !

Here’s something challenging for you to try in 2022.

In this guide to well-being, you’ll explore ten habits to integrate into your daily life that will serve as helpful tools in sustaining emotional, mental, spiritual and physical wellness in the new year.

These mindful habits can help you create a more harmonious daily routine leading to more positive experiences. You can build them slowly, taking one habit each month and build it up. Or you can challenge yourself to build these habits in the first 66 days starting January 1st. Because we are all unique and work on our own pace, how you build up these habits, is entirely upto you. So, you are free to choose your own schedule.

And you CAN do these. Don’t let any false beliefs fool you.

The 10 zen habits.

#1. Exercise everyday, even if it is for 10 minutes. Just get into the routine of moving your body on a daily basis. No matter what !

#2. Prepare your own meals. Cooking is an important skill to develop especially if you want to de-stress or shed some inches off your body. Cooking plays a significant role to develop a strong and healthy body.

#3. Drink a glass of warm lemon water first thing in the morning.

#4. Meditate daily. Unlearn all the wrong things you know about this practice. Then learn everything you can about meditation through reliable sources – books, podcasts or even an online course. Start to meditate as soon as you can. Start small.

#5. Try shopping fast – don’t buy any clothes, shoes, makeup, electronic gadget or anything other than groceries for a month. Slowly extend it to two months. Money saved is money earned. Plus you will get to be creative with what you already have. I follow a rule of not going to malls or any other website which prompts me to buy anything. Out of sight out of mind works well here too.

#6. Try gossip fast – don’t talk about anyone who is not around. Period.

#7. Gadget detox from sunset to sunrise- one of the best gifts you can give yourself and your family is gift of time. So, stop scrolling your devices and be more present for the people who truly matter to you. Bonus – you will allow yourself better quality sleep too.

#8. Gratitude journal – each night write three good things from that day. This has been scientifically proven to improve your overall happiness. Do keep that journal handy at bedtime.

#9. Learn something new- set aside 60 minutes each day to learn something new – become an expert in your field. You can never over learn! 


#10. Complaint fast – try not to speak anything negative for a day. Then stretch it to a week, followed by a month. Think positive thoughts only to attract more positive vibes. If you follow habit #8, this will come easy to you. Too many people waste their precious time and energy on things which are lacking in their life. Being alive in Covid era in itself is a big feat.

Take that first step and implement these simple habits every day. You will find that you would have traveled a long way in just one year! Your story may not have a happy beginning, but that doesn’t define you – what’s important is who you choose to be.
