It’s National Hot Chocolate Day today. And this recipe has been lying in the ‘draft folder’ for several months. Guess it’s the right time to share. The homemade cocoa powder is made up of only 3 ingredients as compared to the store bought hot cocoa which has preservatives and other unwanted stuff. And it tastes way better than the readymade ones. These are also great DIY edible gifts especially during Holidays.
This is my to go drink when it snows outside . My kids also love Hot Chocolate. We have our own way of making our cups a little bit more fancy or shall I say different ? Read till the end to see all the suggested garnishes for this delicious concoction.
Ready In: 5 minutes
Serves : 2
You will need:
1 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
2 cups Powdered Milk
2 cups Granulated Sugar
1 cup mini marshmallows ( optional)
In a large bowl, sift sugar, then cocoa powder to get rid of any lumps. Now add the powdered milk. Give a nice mix so that all the ingredients blend in completely. Add mini marshmallows if using. This mix can be stored in air tight container for upto 6 months. If you wish to gift these, store them in smaller jars.
To make the hot cocoa drink , use equal amounts of dry hot cocoa mix and hot water. Stir and enjoy !
