Reflections : January

It’s a quiet morning here. I’m still in my bed, sitting and writing this and also watching snowfall through one of the bedroom window. This snowstorm will last for couple of days. And  I’m not terrified even though it will be freezing outside. This is  my 10th winter here in Colorado and now I’m  acclimatized to this kind of  ( harsh ? ) weather.

January was a good month for me. My biggest accomplishment : I finished reading this book called “The Boy In Striped Pajamas” . All of it in one week. Yes. That’s why it’s an achievement. It’s a different story that I couldn’t attend the book club meet for which I was reading that book. But hey I got to read it for myself !

Lately I have been :

Cooking : All of my favorite Indian dishes. Matar Paneer, Saag + Makki Ki Roti, Sambhar Dosa, Poori Aloo were on weekly menu this past month.

Drinking : Hot lattes and spiced green teas.

Blogging : A little bit but I have my February planned.

Excited : About my first giveaway on Instagram which is still on in case you are interested.

Aren’t these beautiful ? Check my Instagram to win these beauties.

Thankful : To my friend Anu, from Mio Mora  , for sponsoring the gift for the above mentioned giveaway. Her boutique  has an amazing jewelry collection. Go check her  stunning pieces  here and here. She ships worldwide.

Enjoying : My new hobby – adult coloring books.

Still working on my first Mandala.

Movies:  Brooklyn and Martian are my January favorites. I can definitely watch them again.

I have dreams that are still unfulfilled , goals I haven’t accomplished and new habits which need to be developed. But as long as I keep trying, I’m not losing any hopes.

Stay tuned for February blogs. I have food, fashion, fitness and fun – all lined up for you !

How did January treat you? Do share in the comments below.

  2. I really wish i could look out the window and see snow, so lucky! I watched the movie for the boy in the striped pyjamas… such a sad story but powerful at the same time! Nice post 🙂

  3. Ah, I would love to live in Colorado and be in the snow! I’ve never read Boy in the Striped Pajamas, only seen the movie but I bet it was a fantastic read!

  4. I love your posts they give brief glimpses of small things but are completely relatable to how the thought process flows

  5. The Boy In Striped Pajamas is one of my favourite books. I read alchemist and the girl with a dragon tatto this January. The month was quite productive for me. Hoping February treats us well. Good luck to you 🙂

  6. I’ve never read that book but it’s on my list.

  7. I haven’t read the book yet. Was it really nice?

  8. Hi, Monika.

I can’t imagine what its like to live in a place where there is winter and snow. Because I live in the Philippines, I think 24C is cold enough.

Anyway, you appear to have an awesome January. Let’s see how you make February even better.

As for dreams and goals, the good news is that you have them. The better news is you are doing something about them. The best news is you are getting them!

  9. it seems like a very productive Feb is coming your way! 🙂

  10. Boy in the striped pajamas is such a great read, I remember reading it for school a few years back. Very good.

  11. Kudos to you for a great January!!! My January has been great! I survived a car accident and am so grateful to be alive to still share my faith and weight loss journey!!! I published my first guest blog post. I was a guest speaker for an online women’s group conference call. I’m blessed!!! I’m looking forward to a great year!

  12. I love hot lattes. These kind of posts really give an insight into other bloggers

  13. You are in Colorado? How cool. I wonder which town. I used to live in Denver and have seen most of the state. Colorado is so beautiful in summer. A little harsh in winter but still beautiful. Your post brings back memories.

  14. What a great read!! I am looking forward to looking through this blog a bit more thoroughly!! I am enjoying seeing the different blogs. It’s helps to generate ideas!!

  15. Reflection, to me at least, is one of the most important things in my life. I feel like the only way you can be continually better is to be continually reflecting on what we have enjoyed, what we didn’t, what we were good at and what we were not. Great post 🙂

  16. I love this kind of posts! My January was very productive also 🙂

  17. You have written it in an interesting style, keep writing.
