Tuesday Tip – Lemons for Brown Spots

This week’s tip is shared by one of the readers, Meetu Gulati, who happens to be a good friend too:)

Clear healthy skin is what every woman wants. I have never followed any skincare regime but remember using rose water daily during my college days as I was in love with the fragrance. Now being a SAHM , I hardly get time to pamper my skin.

The other day I noticed few brown, tiny spots on my face. After a little net surfing, I came to know they are sunspots which are usually  harmless but look unattractive. So, to lighten these spots, I tried this simple home remedy which is already yielding results. My spots are getting lighter day by day.

Simply apply fresh lemon juice directly on the affected area. Leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse off with cold water. Repeat this remedy twice daily for about two months to notice positive results. I sometimes just scrub a lemon wedge all over my face.

For sensitive skin, dilute the lemon juice with water.

Another option is to mix enough sugar in lemon juice to make a paste and use it as a scrub on your face, especially on your brown spots. Finally, rinse it off after 5 to 10 minutes.

Lemon juice has bleaching properties that can help get rid of brown spots. Plus, it helps maintain soft, clear and beautiful skin.

This simple regime is helping me to get back my clear skin.

Do try out this simple yet effective home remedy. I am sure you can never be out of lemons anytime.

Thanks Monika for this opportunity.

  1. Thank u girls!

  2. Its true that lemon clears dark spots and blemishes….but using it often makes the skin dry and for those having dry skin will make it more dull…..mix curd and Lemon both..
..apply twice or thrice a week….

  3. Very useful and handy. Will be using this tip often. Thanks for sharing, Meetu !

  4. This is just in time when I’m starting to get those brown spots. Thanks.
