Raita/  Spiced Yogurt …An Introduction
Raita is a spicy & cooling Indian dish made with yogurt. Laced with spices like cumin, mint, black pepper etc., & fresh produce ,this side dish is a regular in almost every Indian household.It goes well with any dry sabzi ( vegetable), biryani, pulav or even as a dip with kababs.
A cousin of Greek tzatziki, Raita has no exact recipe which means that there is a lot of scope for creative minds. You can possibly try adding  any vegetable you can think of & the results will be encouraging.Those with a sweet tooth can add some chopped fruit & they are good, as they say,  to go!!
Whether sweet or spicy, make sure you serve it cold & use the freshest possible yogurt.
